Happy 1st Birthday, Lois!

The birthday girl!
We had a small birthday party on the 13th for her actual birthday. We got her lots of fun books--lots of Karen's favorites from when she was a kid--and a little kitchen.

Presents!

On Friday, we went to Grandma & Papa Krueger's house for a party with David's family.

Cake!
I decided to make Lois's cake, so I made one for the family and then a little one for Lois. I'm pretty proud of my decorating job. :)  Lois didn't want to eat it at first. She touched it tentatively but wouldn't eat it, even after I dipped my finger in it to get her to taste the frosting. But when we dug a little deeper down to the cake part, she decided it was worth eating. Even then, she was a dainty little thing for the first few bites. Finally, she dug in...

Lois's First Christmas

Every year, David's family does a Nativity with the little kids. Last year I was pregnant, so I was pregnant Mary, and then this year Lois got to be baby Jesus.
Here she is petting the cow

Runaway baby Jesus! Her swaddling clothes are falling off...

Christmas Day!

Opening her gift from Great Grandma Midgi

Enjoying the packaging as much as her presents

Getting distracted by her ABC magnets. She was having so much fun that she didn't want to open up her other gifts. :)

As soon as we had her walker all set up, she was off and running. Literally.

"Playing catch"

On our drive down to Arizona for Thanksgiving (still in UT here)
It was SOOO cold, but we had to get out of the car and stretch our legs. Brrr!

And then we stopped at the Hoover Dam to see the new bridge.
Here we are standing on the walkway of the bridge and looking out at the dam.

Lois loved looking out at everything.
I'm sure she was grateful to just get out of the carseat!

Our final destination for Thanksgiving was Tucson, AZ,
where my Aunt Cathy and Uncle Mike live.
Lois developed this funny kissy face while we were there.

Grandma Neen (Karen's mom) was SO happy to see her little grandbaby.

So, umm, yeah...I haven't been all that great at posting pictures, huh? Well, here's me trying to catch up. :)

Lois found three of her pacifiers and was trading out
which one was in her mouth, one by one.
