A Little Announcement...About the size of a kidney bean, actually

Surprise! Here's our little 8-week old gummie bear...currently known as Poseidon until we find out the gender, at which point it might change to Athena (how often do kids get to be named after Greek gods, anyway?).
The little guy/girl did a little dance for us on camera and is growing just fine! :)

And just so you have something to compare me to later...here's as skinny as I'm getting for a while. Bring on the baby bump! I'm SO ready!

On Thursday, David and I get to go to Tahoe for a family reunion with my mom's fam. Get excited! I'll take lots of pics, I promise!

All the World is a Stage

I went with my Shakespeare class last night to see As You Like It at the Hale. Can I tell you that I'm actually enjoying Shakespeare? I was never a fan, but this class is trying real hard to change my mind. Shakespeare was one cool dude.

Any favorites?

So my friends, I'm taking an adolescent literature class this term and have to read 25 novels in 6 weeks.
Yeah, talk about pressure.

I'm looking for suggestions of your favorite middle-grade or young adult books.

Here's the rules:
1. No "classics" (I'm not quite sure what my prof considers classics, but I'm thinking she means the pre-1960s)
2. I can't read more than one or two books in a series.
3. I need variety, so if you have any suggestions that aren't fantasy that would be great--I tend to read a lot of those :). If you have any suggestions in genres like nonfiction, horror, etc., I would love to have them. I'm supposed to read things that I may not normally read.
